Last night, San Diego Magazine hosted an event called Celebrating Women 2023. I’m thrilled to announce that I brought home the honor of “Pioneer in Sports Entertainment.”
I took some liberties with the cover of this month’s San Diego Magazine, ha ha.
Sports entertainment? you may wonder.
Way back in the 1980s and 1990s, my husband, Mark Schulze, and I co-produced some of the first VHS videos of their genre, including several cycling titles, “The Great Mountain Biking Video,” “Ultimate Mountain Biking,” “Battle at Durango: First-Ever World Mountain Biking Championships,” “John Howard’s Lessons in Cycling,” and “Full Cycle: A World Odyssey.”
We also distributed the sports titles of other producers under the umbrella of our company, New & Unique Videos including the Stationary Cycling series.
Mark and I have been avid mountain bikers since 1986. So passionate about the sport that we got married with our mountain bikes in the local mountains in 1987. They say that when you love your work - and we always have - you never work a day in your life. I’m here to tell you, it’s true.
And on evenings like last night, receiving kudos from an esteemed publication like San Diego Magazine is the cherry on top of the sundae.
